And Now...The Incredible Dissapearing Audio!!!

Here's my problem folks, I''m working on a project in premiere pro 1.5. When I import any video file with an audio track the audio won't play. The video plays fine but all I get is silence in both the source window and off the timeline. Here's the weird part. If I scroll up and down (fast forwarding) I can hear sound. Also if I play the raw footage outside of premiere then I can hear the audio track. It's all very frustrating but then they don't call it work 'cause it's fun. Any help would be appreciated.:dankk2:

It depends on the codec. Premiere Pro 1 and 1.5 don't have the best decoding abilities. It's looking like it's about time to upgrade to Premiere Pro 2.0. It's not really disappearing audio as much not-decoded-so-premiere-doesn't-play-it audio.

So the audio just started working again and I didn't even restart my computer or premiere. What the hell would make that happen anyway?

Because of that.

It might have to do with premiere and Somthing called "Direct sound" - that basicly means that Premiere will automaticly take controll of the sound device, if you have another app open that uses direct sound, Premiere will not always play the audio.
