Don't you hate it when people spoil the ending for you?

This is going to be pretty much a rant.

I was just surfing the net cause I was bore when I came upon a manga that was translated and posted on a forum. Now I'm not at all a manga fan but the premise was so fascinating that I decided to check it out. Two hours later, I'm still reading and I couldn't tear myself away. The story is about a high school boy who found a notebook on the street and discovered that if he writes someone's name in the book, they will die. So he decided to kill all the evil-doers and criminals to create a perfect world. But the series of unexplained killing alerted Interpol, who sent a mysterious detective known only as "L" to find the perpertrator. Since the boy doesn't know L's real name, he couldn't kill him, and L is closing in. So the series is pretty much a race between these two adversaries to see who can find the other first.

Anyway, I've only got through the second chapter but I couldn't wait to see how it ends. Then I scroll down the thread for the next link, and some IDIOT had posted a comment that also happened to give away the ENTIRE ending. Pretty much killed it for me since I couldn't continue reading without thinking about it. Can't believe someone would be so thoughtless as to do something like that.

Anyway, I found another place that posted the manga without any commentary so if you're interested check it out. It's called Death Note

Hollywood should seriously make a movie out of this.

Hmmm... sounds interesting. Haven't read through it yet, but if it's made, they should make it unique. Think "Brick"... have you seen it? I'll read it later today.

And YES, I fukking HATE when people give away ANYTHING, especially endings. I'm the type that like's to go into a movie without knowing anything about it.

Afriend of mine's brother told him he had to go see The Sixth Sense. In fact, it was so good he would even watch my friends kids. So as my friend and his wife are walking out the door his brother calls out, "oh yeah Bruce Willis is......" and revealed the secret.

Oh yeah I love the ending of that story when....... just kidding. sounds like a cool idea though! bummer about the ending being spoiled.

PWNAGE

My mother does this with amazing regularity. Fortunately I see most things before she does, but if she ever recommends something I haven't seen I've learned to quickly say, "Just tell me the title and I'll see it ... then we can discuss the ending."

My biggest pet peeve - next to the actual ruining of the ending - are the people who feel like they aren't ruining the ending because they aren't saying anything specific - but instead say:

"The ending is fantastic"
or
"you won't believe the ending - it's a great twist"

As though KNOWING that a surprise is coming isn't ruining it??
"Hey, I"m planning a surprise party for you on Friday, think you can make it?"
