Kitty Washing Machine

Jeez! Some of you guys are waaaay too fixated on the "animal cruelty" aspect! The cat got washed! Not anally raped or stepped on with stiletto heels! Is it "animal cruelty" when the cat gets a shot at the vet? It's actually ok to bathe a cat once in awhile, even if it tries to bolt from the water.

I'm sure the cat is just fine after the ordeal. :)

Seriously, it's upsetting. It was a cat wash, that's all, just because cats don't like water doesn't mean washing a cat with water in an enclosed area is cruel.

Wow, I had tears coming out I was laughing so hard.

I'm sure the cat will be fine--I feel a lot worse for all of the strays and abandoned/neglected cats out in the world.

As for the comments about dogs, I think they can be highly intelligent. Dogs can do some amazing things. When have you ever heard of a cat saving someone's life? Anyways, I like both cats and dogs (even tho I'm allergic to cats) - they're each great in their own way.

Yea cats can smell pretty funk if you dont wash em every now and again. But like, was it me or was the funniest part, the look on the cats face, JUST before the water turned on, like he knew some **** was about to go down. Poor thing. lol

Well, the thing about cats is that they have that whole TONGUE that they clean themselves with. So I mean, no need to give them a bath- they're supposed to be able to clean themselves well enough with that.
I wonder about the invention of this creepy machine- do they actually have cat washing places that have these?

The only reason I can see for washing a cat is if it had an argument with a skunk, or similar.

And, with my cats at least, a box wouldn't be out of the question. Mine are not declawed. Mine don't like to be wet. Mine have no compunction about drawing blood.

The persian actually left a claw in the vet's arm last time she was there for a shot, so imagine the pleasure of holding her down while shampooing.

Luckily, my kitties don't stink, so it's not gonna be an issue.

the only reason to wash a cat is if they have some medical skin condition.
Timur if cats smell then there is something wrong (skin condition) or hormonal or mental (depressed so not cleaning), or the litterbox isn't being changed enough so they get tainted everytime they go in there.

We have two cats and they both smell like cookie dough. You can stick your face right in their fur. Not the back end, but pretty much everywhere else.

My GF is an SPCA volunteer and we frequently foster care dogs.

But we were both laughing our asses off. Yes the kitty was unhappy. Yes there was no reason to do this (unless it has a skin condition). No I don't think it was traumatized for life. But good luck getting it in that machine again.
