Dear colleagues,
thank you for pointing out the metal plate problem. From the factory I do confirm that the composites we use for the plates are as hard as Aluminium, the problem could be in the vibration transmission indeed, because of the different density of material. We are accepting your input and we have decided to go back to the metal plate for the Focus head . From now on the Focus head will be supplied with the metal plate and in the next 10 days we will send a batch of spare metal plates to our office in North Hollywood in order to make them available for all customers who would whish to purchase one. Steve Manios and David Butler at Cartoni USA, will work out a special deal for all existing customers in order to supply the plate at the minimum cost.

We, Cartoni users at DVXUser.com appreciate very much this appropriate decision to replace that composite plate for the metal type.

I hope that Veinco in Ecuador, the vendor of my F100 System, will be also able to replace that plate of my brand new purchase, not yet received as far as today.

Yea, Cartoni rocks! I am so happy when I wake up and walk into my living room... cause there it is... with the legs spread widest... it reminds me a bit of the shorter of the two stage aluminum tipods used in Hollywood when they spread them wide and that beautifull beefy Focus on top of it :love4:
It didn't surprise me that they did this, and it took them just a few hours to check it out and make the decision... I got the e-mail back in the morning, and since I didn't send it till later in the day it was less than one work day :dankk2: so there's another reason to feel like we are brushing elbows with the big boys
 
I haven't checked, but we should call Cartoni... I'll be in Florida all next week so I won't be thinking about it...
 
I emailed both the Cartoni US office over 2 weeks ago as well as Elisabetta Cartoni via her link at the Cartoni site and have not received a response from either.
 
you could just call them... they have a place in Burbank down the treet... They told me to stop by, but I'll be in FL till Tuesday

Hi Planetearth, I have got no message from you, maybe it went in spam basket, call Precision Cameras, I have shipped a few plates for replacement to them last week. Best. Elisabetta

and not to throw water on this thread, but would the Zacuto plate system not meet your needs? That appears to be all metal.

The Zacuto is a rail system, not a tripod plate. It USES whatever tripod plate you already have.
 
The UPS man just delivered my Focus and it did not come with the metal plate, I'm in Michigan, does anyone know how much the new plates will cost yet, or how to order them?

same question here, i'm in cyprus (EU) sent an email and PM to elizabetta cartoni a while back, bought from manios greece and have no response just yet. Hope to get an answer one day soon..
