this guy continues to push the envelope along the cutting edge of mediocrity. the only filmmaker with the balls to make a comedy that isn't funny.

I give you... Postal [the trailer]

I thought you were putting me on until I looked it up on IMDb.

I love watching his films even though they are trash. A couple cases of beer, good friends, a Uwe Boll movie, awesome fun.

There is an interview of Uwe Boll that was right around the time of House of Dead in which he said that about 10 times within 2 or 3 minutes. Not to mention, it sounds amazing in German.

This trailer is hilarious! I will definitely check out this film just to see what Boll can come up with. I think this might turn out to be the breakthrough project for him. Just imagine, he finally gets to do a film and not have to worry about stuff like continuity or logic. This is right up his alley.

I can't stand people who trash Uwe Boll and think they are saying something profound. Not to mention, most people who make fun of his abilities have seen maybe 1 of his films, if that.

I find his personality very entertaining, just read or listen to his interviews. Not to mention, no matter how bad he does, he is laughing his ass off all the way to the bank. It is like those childhood dreams all of us have, those really unrealistic ones, or unlikely. This man has very little talent to create "art", but he has found a way to continue making "economic" films and make a pretty good living at it, while also loving his career. Sure he is a little nuts and narcissistic.

I never go into his films expecting a Kurosawa or even a Bay, but just like watching a big reptile or fish or [insert random being here] film, I enjoy the stupidness of it.

It is trendy to hate on him, just like it is trendy to think Kubrick is the god of cinema. For me, the biggest cliché in film is the audience.

you know what i can't stand? people who attribute someone's opinion to a presumed character flaw. it's insulting. on the whole, i've not liked any of his films. at all. HOWEVER! this scene from house of the dead is the work of a mad genius.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q72wbwbjpxQ

video game footage, cgi bullets, exploding heads, and matrix-style 360 interstitials of each character, set to a pumping 'house of the dead' hip-hop/hard rock fusion theme song. if anything falters here, its the song that can't keep up with Boll as he charges ahead like a threshing machine on a full tank of ether.

still, this is one shining, glorious moment in an otherwise pitiful track record. and i'm sure some of you are wondering... yes, i'm completely serious. i respect anyone who clearly doesn't give a f*ck and is willing to throw everything at you. hell, let the audience sort it out.

I hated the footage, because the game it is based on, looks fricken terrible. However that scene is the best thing I have seen him do so far.

EDIT: Oh and part of the problem with Boll, is he does take himself seriously and he does care what others think. His fighting his critics was more than just publicity. He also tries to justify his work and tries to tell us why it is good. He is a schmuck, and deserves the "hate" towards him, but more for who he is, not for what he has done.

the shitty graphics are why it works, imo. if there was no game footage, the sequence would be completely indistiguishable from the work of any other no-name straight-to-video director. again, imo.
