Canon 24F in PP2 help for XH A1

Hey all

i just found out that in order to correctly edit 1080i footage at 24f on pp2, i need to download an update from adobe which includes these presets

so i found the XL H1 ( even tho im using the A1 ) file which includes 24f and 30f and 60i at 1080i.

i followed the instructions, i put the preset files in the correct folder. I opened a new project selected the proper criteria, but then the program crashes saying a critical error has occured.

i tried this many times and the same thing happens again and again...

If i try reopening the same project ( because it quickly saves it as it crashes ) it says that the preset was unable to open therefor it will open in desktop mode.

How do i fix this, whats going on? This is killing me cause i have no other way of properly editing my new HD footage..
 
Just to clarify, you followed these instructions...
1) Copy the "Canon HDV.xml" file into the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0\Plug-ins\en_US\Editing Modes

2) Copy the folder "Canon HDV" into the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0\Settings\en_US\

The reason I ask is you stated above that you put the files in the folder, just checking that you didn't put them in the same folder. All I can say is that if everything is in the right place and it's not working, I would re-install Premiere.

does it give you desktop editing mode?

and why is it when i import my footagei still need to render it?
