Homemade 35mm Adapters are Lame.

How long did it take for Jim to respond to you guys that ordered the go35? I'm still waiting for a response from an inquire i put in a couple of days ago.

Does anyone know the current turnaround time for the go35?

I know for a fact that Jim was on some freelance assignment over the weekend. He usually answers in a few days depending on how busy he is.

If you go to the website (go-35.com), click "about" and/or "FAQ" and it will tell you all you need to know.

Scotman-
You have to research the best adapter solution for your needs (and budget). If you plan on only shooting SD, a static adapter like the go-35 would work for you and would cost less. If you have plans to shoot HD and keep it there (ie. not downconvert it to SD for DVD delivery), then you'll need a spinning or vibrating adapter like the Brevis, SGPro or Redrock M2 (Those cost more money).

its not that its difficult, i think you just didint have a trained AC.

its not the focus pulling issue, i'm talking about the back focusing on the mini35, It would never stay set.

T I've been around professional DP's probably twice your age, all coming from top-notch film productions, that will swear by the Mini35 on a digital production.

The mini35 is great, but it still has its flaws. for a price tag that large, there shouldn't be any... ie: ground glass in corners of frame, back-focusing issues

the back focus issue is a non issue if you lock down the focus ring of the HVX. Also make sure the rental house knows how to adjust the focal flange distance properly for the PL mount. A good rental house will make sure its set before you rent it.

what about i have a dvx but want the sgpro will that be good. just cause it looks a whole lot better. then, i went to sgpro website and they have a long narrow adapter coming out of the DVX is that the adapter or something else, that comes with it. DO these adpaters flip the image or is it upside down.

If I went with the go35, the site says the magnet trick doesnt work with the DVX100b, the what do I do?

yeah, it was locked down, but like touching the dang thing would jack it... even with the whole thing mounted on rods, do you think that the weight of the lenses can slowly tweak the flange?

The SGpro is Phenominal. it performs the way Nomadic would want it to. pin sharp all across, low light loss, great quality. The magnet trick doesnt work because its a different LCD assebly. its activated by a physical switch, you would need to open it up and manually flip the switch.

Nah not on a Mini35. Its built like a tank.

would the sgpro be overkill or if i had the funds this would be the way to go.

also, is there a special adapter i need to get(the long piece shown on there pics)
