now i have a drive with 350 gigs of stuff how do i reduce the project just to the footage that is used in the final sequence to save space?
done with my short doc....

Actually Media Manager is one of the few things in FCP you can almost use without consulting the manual, though I highly recommend it. Just launch it and you'll see that every change you make will be explained. Here's something on it:
