Little help with NTSC to PAL conversion

Not sure exactly what I am doing wrong.

HDV Footage from Canon A1. Timeline is at 1440x1080 anamorphic on a 24 fps timeline.

So basically need to convert above file to PAL SD file.

I dont need to output to tape. Just create another QT file, every search comes back with reference to export to tape.

EDIT: wanted to add some more detail with my issue.

So the workflow I intend to use is as follows

1/ Output edited sequence.

2/ Open output in cinema tools and batch conform to 25fps (having a problem here see log below)
Begin Sun, 28 Jan 2007 6:47:54 PM
Conform FULLSEQUENCE copy 6:47:54 PM
Skipped -- The movie has temporal compression FULLSEQUENCE copy.
Done Sun, 28 Jan 2007 6:47:54 PM

3/ Create new SD PAL 25fps sequence.
4/ import batch conformed footage
5/ Output QT file.

Converted to DVCPro and cinema tools batch conform worked. Dragged into new DVCPro 25 fps pal project and am rendering. Think Im on the right track.

OK seriously Im getting nice clean outputs, but whatever I do its in 4:3 aspect ratio. HELP!

Gotta love these Tyler Durden conversations we have with ourself. :D Glad it's working out Noel, nothing worse than a Groundhog Day loop that is not solved. Back to my infinite data loop...

Cinema tools does the FPS conversion very fast. Its just the aspect ratio thats giving me the headache.

The 2 proper ways to do this have nothing to do with Cinema Tools. Either drop your HDV Seqeuence into a PAL SD Seqeuence, render, export. Or export directly to Compressor, setting it up to give you a PAL SD file. Simple as that. For format conversion like this, Cinema Tools is NOT the way to go.
