What device do you use to capture analog footage?

it seems products like Dazzle suck, or may not be mac compatible...I'm using a mac mini and want to capture video from my vcr or dvd player...

suggestions..
 
I run my VHS player through my miniDV camcorder and then run that into my Mac. If your camcorder is able to do that, then that is a free way to copy analog material. I haven't had as much luck with copyrighted DVDs though.
