on the lot reality tv show

Going to probably enter in my dramafest flick... was going to enter a trailer for Smuggler's but read the fine print and found out they own rights to the submission, and that could get a little sticky when it comes to distribution.

what is it?

a new reality tv show on fox. they select 16 filmakers who compete each week to produce a short film from a specific genre. spielberg is one of the creators.

Also, the deadline is only a month away... not a whole lot of time

Yeah... but I'm sure there's plenty of people that have a short laying around. No need to shoot specifically for the contest, so just enter something you've already done.

This has been going on for over half a year now. They pushed the submission date back from last December to February. I am VERY surprised this has not been a major topic around here.

There's stuff on this site that clearly outshines the top-rated footage on the www.thelot.com website.

I don't think that the fine-print should effect anyone, because you can't submit more than a certain amount of time anyway.

I don't want ANYTHING to effect me selling Smuggler's to a distibutor... therefore I had to be VERY careful and read the fine print... being on a reality show and eliminated after four rounds isn't worth me signing away clips from my film.

I'm going to try and submit my dramafest entry. That's one of the reasons I'm gunning for the five minute 'on the lot' time limit as opposed to six minute dramafest.
