Vegas 6 Solo or w/DVD?

Okay, I'm about this close to unhappy with how my HD is looking using PPro2 so I was thinking about checking out Vegas 6... but here's the question:
Do I pick up just the editing software by itself (Vegas 6) from someone like B&H for a hundred bucks or do I invest and purchase the whole package (Vegas 6 + DVD Architect 3). I do have the opportunity (since I work for a major university) to get the big package for just a hair over $200... but do I really need it?

I have (but have never used) Encore 2.0. Would that suffice? Would Encore serve as well as the DVD side of Vegas (Architect 3)? ...And what's the license (EULA) on Vegas 6 like? Is it business friendly like Adobe's?

I would love to hear from folks on what they think about Vegas 6... is it the end-all to some major HD offload and workflow troubles? Or am I just spittin' in the wind? :cheesy:
You're input is much appreciated!:dankk2:

Vegas 7 +DVD is the current release. Actually ver 7c is available. Academic Superstore www.academicsuperstore.com and other academic resoures have the suite for about $280 before a $30 rebate. I use PP Pro2 but have just ordered Vegas for HDV. Unlike PP Pro 2 Vegas is an 8 bit product. So renders are max 8 bit color not 10 bit or higher. But unless you are going for the big time film out your OK.

I have played with the demo and just installed the purchased product and its really a gem.

DVD Architect seems to be a great produt! I am very happy with it and I've heard of other people editing in other brands but using Architect to burn their DVDs... I love Vegas so far... it Rocks! And looking at the cost of other NLE's I think it is a no-brainer... unless you want to buy Edius for it's realtime editing speed... but if your computer won't do realtime HD in Ediu, then get Raylight and Vegas... don't be affraid to get into this product and for that don't be affraid to get into this line of products... there are many super-helpfull members that post here regularly... the'll be ale to go into the pros and cons and if you get it you'll find a WEALTH of knowledge readily available right here...

It makes no sense to pick up Vegas without DVD Architect. Aside from getting a fantastic DVD authoring app which is extremely well-integrated with Vegas, it gives you the Dolby Digital encoder (necessary for outputting AC-3 files, including 5.1 surround), which by itself runs almost $300.
