noah, that was nice man!!! It's got an A-HA feeling to it. So far yours is the best i've seen on youtube. Good luck man. You mind giving us the run down on how you did it?

some one care to help me figure out compression for youtube? I tried uploadewd a 25mb flash file but it read as an error!!! what do i do?!?!

there was a post i read last week that shows you how to make a clean youtube output but i cant seem to find it. Something about exporting it as a flash file.

I just tried it again. And it says invalid format. Doesnt work. Any suggestions? Maybe my .flv is the wrong settings...

it was good..i like anotehr video thats on youtube it has not only the band but a back story...it changes things up a bit..

i've seen some with a story to it too but Noah's version has the potential to be a commercially made music video (meaning its ready to go). What's one you saw, maybe pm me with it so this thread doesnt get hijacked :)

Damn dude! That's amazing! You really put a lot into this and it really shows...Very clever way to go about this...I've seen some others and none of them have gone in the direction you did...Good work man...I definately could see this on TV...I'd actually want to watch this video on TV....It's one of those videos where you'd hope that it came on MTV even if you didn't like the band....You gotta explain how you went about the transitions between the sketches and how do you get the movements to be so smooth but quick....Again good job! Hope you win!

hey Noah, i found the link to that post. This is what benandaim recommends

OK,

You have to upload it as an .flv as that is youtubes native format. I use sorenson squeeze, select .flv compression, choose 1mbps setting, put in youtube 320 x 240 rez (i think that's the recommended) and wa-la. I had a lot of ppl tell me that my vids were extremely clear so i thought others could benefit from the settings. Let me know how u go

Yeah i got it, and it worked. I was exporting through AE, and i had to change one thing and it worked. But kinda late now because i already added it to the youtube group (which has to be approved by the company). Oh well. Ill put it up in hi-res on my website once the competition is over. Unless i win!!! hah.

Thanks dudes. I ended up doing this in 3 days. From Monday to wednesday. 12 hour shifts (or until i felt sick) hah. What specifics were you interested in? I know compression sux but i've already submitted this version, i will have a higher-res version once the competition is over (jan. 25) on my personal site. I dont wanna mess around with having the video anywhere in case. Unfortunately contests like these sometimes end up picking very amateur videos...so i hope they dont look past mine. I think i deserve to win, i worked my ass off so much that i got sick. Last day i told myself i wont sleep until i finish it. Realizing i had to overnight it for Friday (because their deadline is a holiday and they are closed!). So Day 3 was from 7pm til 10am.

I think it's pretty good, but as someone else already replied there: spend more times on the frames and less on the zooming, cause it's really making me dizzy ;)

i dunno man i really like your edit. The only thing i think you could of change was the speed cuts. Like its seems to go too fast but other than that i think it mtv material. Good luck

Yeah but these types of competitions tend to pick more amateur work, which i hate sometimes. Not too fair. We'll see what happens.
