Pirates Of The Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest

We went to see this movie a few weeks ago during the awful heat wave here in Cali. I wanted to get out of the house but not be in the heat. However, i do not enjoy the theater at all. It is uncomfortable & overpriced. I think our home theater is way better, our snacks and drinks are free, i can watch in my pj's and i can pause the movie to go to the bathroom. So, I usually do not like any movie that I see in the theater. This movie was great, I loved some of the fight scenes, they are so well choreographed that it reminds me of a jackie chan movie. I love depp in this role - he makes the movie so completely entertaining. The ending totally ticked me off. i don't like paying full price for half of a story. But in spite of that and in spite of watching it in a wretched theater ;), i give this movie a total thumbs up. (I'll like it even more when it comes out on dvd.)
 
So.. Did anyone else get the (2) disk set today? Picked mine up and will check it out over the next few days. I always check out the BTS stuff first and there's like 5 hours of that alone. Who knows, might spot Rich Lee in there somewhere.
 
I rented this and am preparing to view. Although all my friends over the age of 12 have warned me I am about to be bored to death. So I'm going in with low expectations. Cryo, you said the BTS was 5 hours long? Are you sure they weren't talking about the movie?
 
I didn't see the first one until it hit DVD and I can't say I was bowled over by it. I still can't say I understand all the hullabaloo over the series, but I liked the film. Seeing the second was a whole other story. I felt like they really improved upon the formula and made it a much more entertaining and engaging story. Bill Nighy owns, as usual and the ending had me so stoked! Looking forward to the wrap-up.
 
I was more or less underwhelmed with PART 2 and turned it off at the 3/4 mark.

The performances were spot on but the overall story arc and magic of the first film has been lost.
 
First film I slept through in the theatre. Which is a pain in the ass, because that meant I had to rewatch the damn thing.
 
Threads still alive after 7 months. Awesome. Rumour has it that the trailer for the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 trailer will be out within the coming week. Apparently its being given away as a competition prize. Where you own the trailer for one day and its up to you whether you share it or keep it to yourself. Apparently similar to what they did on the last films Theatrical Trailer.
 
I wish I could own the third film, I would never watch it or show it to anyone and life would be great. :beer:
