investments, investments....hmmmm, investments.

Hello everypeople,

I would like to hear some experiences or real world advice on this subject. Say you have/had about 4grand that you're looking to use to invest in equipment. What would/did you spend it on? I am trying to become a DP...eventually I don't have a 3chip DV camera, I am looking more towards the grip/AC department to drop cash on, although I am considering purchasing an Arri 2c(modified to PL mount ect...). I just want the most out of my investment. I just dropped $500 on two fresnel 2k B and M lights, with stands(so, now that leaves me 4g's as stated). Things that I can use on a shoot when DP'ing or ACing on a project. I might even think about the M2 so that I can use on a friends camera to learn how to use the Follow Foucus unit. Any suggestions/advice/experience concerning this topic. Oh yeah, I am also looking to rent out the equipment that I buy. Thanks peoples.

Well as a Director...I would love my DP to own...HMI's 2-5k's, M2, Lots of fast lenses, truck filled with grip equip.

That would make my life SOOOOO much easier.

Well I have some fast lenses, working on the M2, the 2k's will eventually be accompanied by some mole 5k's, hmi's looking good for next year and maybe one day I'll get a truck to put all that and some grip equipment in. How's that for starters?
