herman miller aeron chair, yay or nay?

Yay!

Seriously the best money spent in my office. If my office were on fire I would save Aeron first. :)

Cheers

Sad Max, aren't they covered by a lifetime warranty in any case? Maybe I should check. But mine's still basically as good as the day I bought it, with a few scuffs and scratches notwithstanding.

Don't forget that they make different sizes and models of this chair. Some have adjustable lumbar supports and some don't. Not sure if there are other differences. I've never missed having the lumbar support when I've ended up in a version without it. Can't walk into an ad agency or production house without hitting one of these things. One day one of them is going to end up in the back of my car. :) Still, I would think you could find a pretty decent chair for less unless you just happen to have a sweet chair budget.

They might be. We never replaced any at NDEI, but (a) we were expanding and (b) 250-lb-animator-related damage, may not be covered by warranty.

each has to decide if a $700 chair is worth the price .. i have 2 of em and they are worth every penny .. i can sit for hours and no back problems ... back in 97-99 i tried several different chairs and had back irritations at end of day ....

they have A/B/C models - each for different size person ... my wife uses one at work which i believe is a A - it is too small for me and doesn't really support my weight leaning back = at any price the "A" would not be worth it for my use ... kind of like shoes if you're a size 8 you are not going to be comfortable with a size 6 ...

IMO chair/shoes can make or ruin one's day ..

Definitely worth it. I can't sit in anything but the Aeron for long. No back pain, etc (which i have a history of)
