Things to do in LA

if you like contempory ART - check out Bergamount Station in santa monica ...

if you want to hang with the ? (kind of upscale - sometimes many celebrities there from all walks ) - go to the Casa Del Mar ( hotel- santa monica on beach) lobby /bar area on friday /sat early eve ..... or take a evening walk down the 3rd st promanade in santa monica ........
or eat breakfast/lunch at BABA Lu on montana street ( santa monica )

or take a walk along the beach from santa monica pier to venice pier ...

Other worthwhile museums - LA Country Museum of Art (LACMA), the LA Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Getty Center, the Petersen Auto Museum, the La Brea Tar Pit center (if you enjoy watching things sink screaming into the tar, and viewing their remains, afterwards). Also near museum row is the big permanent farmers' market, which is a great place to wander/eat lunch.

There's a good Magritte exhibition at LACMA, right now. Don't know how much longer it will be there.

'24' (the restaurant, not the tv series) on Vermont Avenue, is also a great eatery.

And, if you're into architecture, FL Wright's 'Ennis Brown' house, part of the California Work, is nearby, too, and is (on a schedule) open to the public (ditto the Hollyhock House/Barnsall Art Center, also in the same general area).

Just go anywhere and people watch. I did a lot of that when I made my trip. Don't know if you consider that touristy, but it was some of the best people watching I've ever done.

Walk throughout downtown LA in the middle of the night by yourself.
near tokyo town, there are some streets that look like a refugee camp -- dozens of homeless people and their cardboard boxes, tents and grocery carts line the sidewalks.

Quick question. The LA people may be able to find the information faster than I can.

What are the addresses of Fox, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios (street name and zip code, please)? I want a hotel within walking distance, if possible.

Fox is in Culver City, and Warner is in Burbank and Universal is in Universal City (Studio City).

You would have to really enjoy walking.
