Anyone notice the moon last night and tonight?

[Jay Rodriguez]

It's amazing tonight. I'm actually filming it out of my window right now and will bring it into FCP in a few minutes to see how it looks in 1080i HD.

I'll post a link.

I did notice it last night, it was flat-out awesome.

I remember during my drive to Florida about a month ago it was HUGE and low in the sky, and this real buttery color. It was so close it was scary. I'll duck out and check it.

I saw it during this mornings sun rise just before it went behind the horizon. It was wrapped in pink hued clouds and it looked amazing.

Don't send a 35mm to do the job of a >300mm lens.:thumbdown Unless you have 10.1 mp behind it.

*note to self* get a long lens!:violin:

Coffee-

Thats an amazing shot...I love when the moon gets like that...

Funny thing is, when the moon looks so huge like that, its actually farther from the Earth than usual. Its an optical illusion. The moon looks so big when its close to the horizon because our eye is simultaneously processing the information of the moon-size and automatically comparing it to the surrounding information on the horizon...buildings, trees, houses, street signs, etc. making it appear HUGE....

Thanks for the link...
