Happy New Year. May your new year be pain free and full of hip jokes. So which resties are you looking to hit up with Leslie? Le Cirque maybe?
 
Just spent last weekend up in the Village. We limited our meals to a lunch at OTTO and a dinner at Ennio's.

Last year we went to Il Cantinori, Cafe des Artistes, The Terrace, Delmonicos and Artisinal. They were all good, but be prepared for a lot of grilled salmon and beef bourginon -- those seem to be the standard prix fixe offerings. It works best if one person orders from the Rest. Week menu and one orders from the regular menu, and share -- then at least you save off the usual tab but get to try something from the standard menu. Some places, the waiters will give you attitude or rush you because they know they will get a lower tip than usual (although, when we didn't get attitude, we tipped higher than 20% to compensate for the overall bill being lower than standard). Also, make reservations now -- we waited till late in the game and got a lot of very early and very late seatings (eg, 5 p.m. or 10 p.m.)
