Movies You Would Rather Vomit On Than Watch Twice

Why is being Hollywood such a terrible thing in some eyes?
Mark my words...
I can't bloody wait till my films & I are considered "so Hollywood"!
I cannot think of a more flattering compliment.

When I say a film is "so Hollywood" I mean that the film comes across as unrealistic and I can't get immersed into it, it's like watching an Ed Wood film where you can see the strings holding up the flying saucers. You see the fakeness of it all and it comes across as hollow. "We Were Soldiers" hit me that way, just a another phony war film, no soul or realness to it.

cause for me,

I really enjoyed We Were Soldiers. It departs quite a bit from todays grainy high shutter speed war formula shooting style but it works. The film is patriotic and doesn't apologize for that.

It mixes a bit of humor with a lot of horror and a dash of old Hollywood trickery. We don't get real heroes much anymore and We Were Soldiers gives us a bit of Audie Murphy and Lee Marvin but this film gives us real people.

Do we need another ANTI Vietnam film ? Or can we celebrate and honor the men who fought and died at Ia Drang ?

So,

 Hollywood = Ed Wood

Mr Callaghan, please don't make life difficult LOL. You know exactly what people mean when they say "so Hollywood". When that term is used, it means you are removed from the story because of the overwhelming fakeness, and the film is just a big bleached dead saltine cracker.

Your poster collection is nice; those are good Hollywood films (except for "Gone with the Wind"). Now make a list of the "soooooo Hollywood" fake films, like "We Were Soldiers", that don't ring true, just one false note after another. Too many to list.

" Donnie Darko " Dunno why but i hate this Goddamn movie.

I love Darko; from the opening riff of Echo's The Killing Moon I was hooked.

And then they changed the song on the Directors Cut. :Drogar-Angry(DBG):

its funny though, EVERYONE i knwo said " Dude youre gonna LOVE DD!!!" ( i dunno what about my personality leads people ot believe that i would love it so much.... Maybe its my Mohawk....) I watched it, got bored, turned off DVD.

Ace Ventura: When nature calls
I really like Jim Carrey, but this one was just way over the top

Anaconda

Barb Wire

Blair Witch Project

Cool as Ice

Howard the Duck

Look who's talking

Look who's talking now

Spice World

I know how I forgot Alexander I tried to erase it from my mind with a plunger, thanks for bringing up bad memories.

Do we need to talk about them? I think it takes too much investment to do so. I would rather talk about why we shouldn't talk about them.

Ace Ventura: When nature calls
That is mindless humor at it's best...
