Parking Enforcement + Pennies = Mad

So I hate meter maids, hate them all.. . impossible to avoid a ticket in LA... I decided to pay for my $50 parking ticket today.. Before I went to the agency I stopped by the bank to withdraw $50 worth of pennies, all rolled up and put into a big plastic bag. I heaved that bag into the agency, through it on the table and said, "there..your payment.." The girl at the counter took one look at the bag, rolled her eyes, said, "Oh hellllll nooooo... I'm going on a break..." and left me there standing for the next 10 minutes.. To make a long story short, security was there to ask me to leave.. they didn't take my money..

idiots.....

rgdfilms that sucks. That's a great frickin' idea though.

At the apartment complex I live at, there is no parking in front of the apartment on Thurs. from 9-11am. I forgot to park elsewhere the previous night, so in the morning I was so scared that I was going to get a ticket, but woke around 10am and got out of there scott-free. But if I ever do get a ticket I am def. going to do what you did.

Well good luck- I spoke to them over the phone and they said I have to label each roll of pennies with my citation number as well as my license # because technically it is multiple forms of payment on one ticket and they need to track that for some reason.. So, wednesday will be a new day.. hopefully I'll have some undercover video for you guys..

"Go ahead, be a wiseass. We have ways of dealing with your type!" It sounds like it would be fun, until you have to lug them pennies, then label them all.

I am going to go buy some printer labels, should be really easy to print them, peel em and apply them - I could have paid for this ticket weeks ago but this makes it totally worth it.. just to see their faces cringe when they realize that I'm, that guy..

Robert - lucky you getting away without the ticket. In front of my old apt. in the Valley, it was no parking 8am-10am everyday for morning traffic. Well, more than once I'd get home in the afternoon, and instead of parking in the secure lot in back I would pull up out front intending to go out again later that evening. Well, I'd decide to stay in, forget I parked in front and end up getting towed. It happened twice, and in addition to the $60+ ticket it would cost over $200 to get the car out of the impound lot. And that was after I was able to find a ride to the lot.

Not good times.

I hear that if you actually park your Vehicle on the Pavement, no auto laws apply since it is technically "public" owned property thus not under the same as the physical road...(heh, never actually tried it though) (not sure what the US laws mandate) :)

One Actual "trick" that some one done in the UK as part of a "Candid Camera" Stunt was to put a legal disclaimer on the car stating that the car was private property and that touching it would result in a fine, heh, heh the poor old ticket lady HAD to touch the car to issue the ticked BUT it was rigged to break when she lifted the windscreen wiper!.

The the car owner came back and WROTE here a larger fine !!, she started calling her collegues and stuff, :) caught all on hidden camera..

I don't get it. If a roll of pennies is a separate form of payment, does that mean that each penny is also a separate form of payment? What if you pay in ones, is each dollar bill a separate form of payment? Would the pennies be a singular form of payment if they were out of the rolls and in a shopping bag?
