Download my Feature Film for FREE

Hi guys,

We want to try something a little different with "Starlit". So we are offering the film as a FREE download. If people like the film, we are asking them to voluntarily pay for it. ($4.99) This is similar to Shareware, or "Try before you Buy".

The best thing for the film, and the team that made it, is that as many people see it as possible. To let people know; we love film, we made the best film we possibly could, and we'd like to make another one.

And yes I am crazy.

This is an interesting approach to take. I am interested to learn your impressions as to the "success" of this approach after you have the offer up and running for a period of time.

I will certainly check it out and wish you the best of luck on your film and its marketing approach.

Thanks Kevin. Yep, this is uncharted waters. Getting the film seen is really foremost. The film is basically being offered as "free content", and that's of course what a lot of sites run on. Well, here goes.

I like the concept... although I doubt you'll make much off of it. It doesn't look like that's what you and your team are after, though, so best of luck, and I'm looking forward to see how this turns out.

p.s. I'm downloading it right now.

Out of all the people that download this, I'm wondering how many will...

...call the Police on me.

Thanks fellas. :)

HA!! I've only had time to watch a bit (10mins), and I don't want to say or do anything till I have time to watch the entire thing in one sitting, but I think I already know what you're talking about.

I understand. You need time to gather evidence.:engel017:

Paul, visually, I like your use of lighting/low lighting and the results yielded.

Script, very descriptive, well thought out and drafted, however, the content I did not personally enjoy, though it might appeal to others. At times, the dialog reminded me of one of my favourite movie's, American Psycho, when Bale's character was mulling over in his mind playing out certain dark events, however, this was predominantly the whole of your movie, and I found that somewhat unendurable by the end.

I like it visually on the technical sides of things, including post work in the form of color timing which I found appealing. I found the content very confronting and unappealing to me on a personal level, but that's just me. My guess, based on my feedback, you have achieved your goal?

Thanks Christopher.

Well, it's dark stuff -- especially once we hear the thoughts of the "filmmaker". It's almost an "anti film" in a sense. Also, good point on American Psycho. I loved that book.

SPOILER

As far as achieving my goal; the way I would judge that is maybe by the fate of the main character. He is released from his hell. And I think we created something that really is hellish. So, I think, yes. :)
