i read about that yesterday.... i don't think they should do it, but the godfather himself sold the rights, and wanted it done.... who'll play Brown? Eddie Murphy?

I saw the headline and almost ****. They're going to remake a masterpiece with Spike Lee directing...oh, that godfather, nevermind...

Actually, this makes sense. I think Spike is a pretty good director of scripts he doesn't write. I liked Inside Man, it was well executed.

I'm not a big fan of his writing but he can probably pull this off.

I'm not terribly bothered by him making it; I'm wondering why this is being announced while the corpse is still fresh

Spike doesn't seem the type that understands rock, soul and funk. He comes across as very stiff.

I think they're announcing it because it's timely, and it's easier to get funding while it's news. It sounds like the project has been in the works for some time.

eddie was on inside the actors the other day i think he could pull it off but it would be interesting... who else could do it. I love to see this movie but spike has changed somewhat in the last few years as long as he doesnt make it over agenda oriented I think it will be a great movie like ray was... but then again this is spike lee (a guy who started suing companies, copyrights andothers for have spike in their name) so i dunno im split till i see results.
