A great man once said, "My ideas are so generic, so cliche, everyone else is afraid to steal them. They're afraid they'll get accused of plagerism. That's how I like it."

It may have been Ed Wood, but I can't remember for sure. It could have been Garth Marenghi, or perhaps Roger Corman. Anyway, it was a great man.

Thanks Noct! I really am enthused about it. I guess what really is most important is that I myself believe in it. And that I do. And I'm not afraid of being inspired of other movies or games I'm still going to make it my own.

I'm not afraid of being inspired of other movies or games I'm still going to make it my own.

Heck, virtually every new piece of work is derivative of something else, in one way or another; being inspired by what's come before - like you say - is nothing to be afraid of. On the other hand, it's also worth being aware of what's already out there, in order to avoid distracting your audience by showing them precisely what they have seen somewhere else, before, in exactly the same context.
