Looks like an interlace line issue. In the Browser, right click on the clip, go to Item Properties, what is Field Dominance set for in the clip?

Right click on the Sequence in the Browser, go to Item Properties, what is Field Dominance set for there?

So you actually aren't using "progressive" but "interlaced" footage. Does this show up when you play it back in real time? Or did you only notice it when you step through frame by frame?

i see it when look at it frame by frame. (but im not sure but normaly, when you watch 24p footage frame by frame, the 5th frame always double up no??) Im not really sure if its noticable when its playing in real time.

When i look at it in the viewer its ok the 5 frame or so double up but as soon as its on the timeline it creating lines every 4 or 5 frames

Your clip and Sequence are not progressive, so you're actually working with 24fps interlaced. If it were 24fps Progressive, there would be no field dominance at all.

And how can i put that back to progressive?? (My clips are from the dvx100 shot in 24p mode) and for the sequence im using the default dvntsc.

The footage seems to be find but when it goes in the time line, everything changes

Do you think i can be because of the computer. Cause i just open the project on my computer and i dont have those lines on the same timeline. We just bought a new computer 2 weeks ago. (its a power mac 2.66). Or maybe the editor who was helping me **** something up on that computer?? Im really really confused right now!!!!

I just figure out something but its not helping me alot. When i watch my clip from the timeline and i put the window at exactly 100% by clicking on the top of the window on the %, the lines appear. And when my window is not exactly 100% i dont see the lines. Its the same thing with the viewer!!! But if i look at it on a monitor, i still have the lines. every 4th and 5th frame. Its really starting to piss me off!!!!!

According to your answers, you have field dominace set, so it's not progressive. Not sure what to tell you about that.

Also, if it were progressive (no field dominance at all), you'd use the "DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) Advance Pulldown Removal" Easy Setup for this Sequence, as the standard NTSC settings are interlaced and 30fps, not 24.

Actually, If you shot in 24p then you would use the default dvntsc settings and only use the advance pull down settings when you shot in 24pa. You might want to check your playback quality settings. If the footage looks fine in the viewer then you might just have something set different in the sequence settings

Play back quality is on high. I shot 24p (normal) im using the default dvnstc settings for capture and for my sequence. But when i look at my footage in the timeline or in the viewer at 100% I get lines on everything that moves ever 4 and 5 frames.

This sounds more like a monitor issue than a playback problem. Are you using an external monitor or TV ? I would just check your playback on a external or TV
