Please Check out my demo reel (letus35 footage)

I just put this together the other day. All of the footy was shot with a DVX original and the second film on the reel was shot with a letus35.

I wrote and recorded all of the music on the reel myself as well. I think that is the coolest part about my reel. Showing multiple talents on a reel seems important these days as many employers simply do not hire "editors" or "dp's" but want people who can do other things as well.

Anyways. please check it out and let me know what you guys think. Thanks so much.

P.S.: the music was done in Logic 7

I liked it, did you do alot of CC'ing?

Also, it may just be my monitor, but the first film looked alittle "bleached".

I didnt do any CC on the first film, it was all done in camera and with lighting belive it or not.

The second film was only CC'ed in the end (obviously cuz its B&W). I tried to do most of it in camera but it al situations that is not really possible.

Wow, I thought this was really good. I especially like "The Man I Killed". This Letus35 is the real deal, huh? The DOF was great in these shots. I really liked when the B&W turned into color. Looked so cool. Who was the actor with the beard in this movie. Obviously i couldn't hear him read lines, but he *looked* like he was a good actor. Was he? What's his name? Is he based out of LA?

Also, I thought the music in The Man I Killed (wasn't paying as much attention in the first one so may have been the same) was really good. Good job. Did that take a long time? Are you a musician?

My only critique is, for a demo reel, you stay on shots for too long. The shots at the end look great, but you know that within 3 seconds. We don't need to keep looking at them. I only say this because that screams out "these are the only good shots I've ever recorded because if I had more good ones I would have obviously shown them instead of showing you these for 60 seconds each." I assume you kept them there so you could let your music play longer. Which is fine if you're showcasing both. But if someone already has a composer and is just looking for a shooter, they'll want a shorter reel. But good job. I'm very impressed.

i actually cut the demo reel first, and then took it into logic and composed the music from there. But thanks for letting me know. I didnt really think about leaving those shots too long.. maybe i will change it. But that means changing the music..boo.

It took about 3 days on and off to full write, record and mix it. Logic is amazing.. the things you can do nowadays with the right digital instrumentation.

Say what you want about band nerds...lol.. but i have only HS band to thank for my abilities in musical composition.
