Getting one hour of footage on to a DVD

Hello guys.

I'm really frustrated now. I have pretty much exactly one hour of footage that I want to burn on a DVD. But when I import it to DVD-Architect, it says that the file is taking up 6,4GB, when the video file itself (MPEG2) is only 1,36GB. What am I doing wrong here? I just can't seem to figure this out. :(

Need help fast!

According to reports here, DVDA regularly gives erroneous information regarding file size. Apparently you can just ignore it and continue. Hopefully someone with more experience comments, as this has never happened to me.

If I try to burn it, it says that it's "too large for the selected media", and won't burn. And yes, I have set it to a 4,7GB DVD.

I've had that issue when trying to monkey with the audio compression. If I leave the audio settings alone, the file size remains similar. I'm not a tech guru so I can't give a good explanation for that.

Hopefully it helps.

Well, is there an option anywhere in DVD Architect to adjust the audio compression? I can't find anything... This is really doing my head in!

Check under file>properties (project properties) and make sure the default audio settings are set to AC-3 stereo. When you go to "prepare" or "burn" your dvd, don't monkey with the optimization settings.

I may be way off base as to your Architect glitch but hopefully that lead to something.
