christmas gift for girlfriend

Thanks for all the suggestions. I already got her an ipod for her birthday.

I've been thinking jewelry and will probably go with it unless I find something better. Rezfactor, thanks for the links.

I was actuallyt hinking about getting a nice pair of slippers in addition to some other things, but not so she can kick me to the curb though.

After giving her the other gifts, which I consider pretty damn good gifts, I kind of want to live upt o them and get something up to par with those.

Does she have a docking station? Aram gave me an iPod nano last Christmas (engraved w/my DVXuser name...) and then gave me the Bose docking station on the next gift-giving occasion two months later... I love it -- probably use the nano docked more than I use it on the go.

And then, yes, jewelry is always good -- but know her tastes, eg, does she prefer silver or gold? Fine gems or hand-crafted artisan jewelry? Does she wear bracelets? (I've known women who were self-conscious about their hands and wouldn't wear them...) Etc. Nothing worse than getting jewelry you wouldn't want to wear. But sounds like you know her pretty well.

Extravagant spa days are also great if she's into the whole pampering thing.

Or, in keeping with the whole trips trend, what about a wonderful weekend away, somewhere within a few hours driving distance, to a luxurious b&b? Especially lovely idea if you live in a city... Somewhere she can wear all those beautiful sweaters you got her. ADD: OK, I see you are in Holyoke, MA... so, maybe a trip to Montreal???

Got mine one of those digital photo frame thingies (displays images, video, music from a memory stick etc.)

you can get em in that price range. Not so romantic but I will include some of our photos on the CF card I include with it.

Did the same.

Bought a NICE digital frame and loaded all the pics we have ever taken together for the last 3 years on it... :)

Also included was the 2gig sandisk SD card I got for $20 after thanksgiving...

She LOVES it... :) Very thoughtful she says...

But, crystals are a lot cheaper. Get something nice from Swarovski. It's a world-recognized brand with a lot of cache. They have tons of bracelets, chokers, and necklaces for under $100. And they LOOK expensive, even though they aren't.

SWAROVSKI

I gotta tell you...I love that idea. I've never heard of SWAROVSKI before (yes, I live under a rock and yes my girlfriend just informed me that they are responsible for the star on top of the Rockefeller Christmas tree). But, man, they have some beautiful stuff. And, its crystal. Its not tacky like fake diamonds. Its not trying to be diamonds. Its crystal. And you are right...a lot of really good looking stuff for an affordable price.

Having said that, you can get her a nice hunk of silver for a decent price from Tiffany and Co. I gotta tell ya, if you don't want to go the crystal route, if you get something from Tiffany and Co. you will find that she will probably keep that little Tiffany Blue gift box as a memento. Chicks dig that store. I've purchased for my girlfriend there a couple times. On one occasion, she actually teared up. It wasn't even an engagement ring. They LOVE that blue box.

Speaking to Msmanhattan...this year, I too got my girlfriend a docking station for her iPOD. I know shes gonna love it. But, I got her some other cool stuff as well. Broadway show tickets. We live in New York...so we have this option available to us. But you might have a top notch theater where you live too. I was very fortunate. I found WICKED tickets on sale for a 2pm show on February 14th. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. She'll open up her box with the tickets and probably a CD of the show. And, on the 14th of February, her gifts already taken care of. A little city stroll perhaps, a nice dinner etc....I am genius this year if I do say so myself....

Nice. I like the kind of gift like this where you can personalize it somehow.
I also included some pics of us. Hopefully she will like it.
