An interesting line up of original videos from 06.

I have to say, one of my favorites on the list was Daft Punk's Prime Time of Your Life
directed by Tony Gardener

The overly warm 80's after school PSA aesthetic almost feels frighteningly too real.
I guess since SFX artist Tony Gardener got his start back in the 80's on videos like Thriller, it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

Prime Time of Your Life has to be the most annoying song I've ever heard. Do people actually deliberately on purpose listen to that song?

Boc rocks my socks.
The video reminds me of that Bird of Prey video for Fatboyslim a while back, but a little better.
Speaking of birds, I also like Chosen Darkness’'"The Owl"[youtube link] created independently by animation student Emmanuel Ho.
On the PFork list they have a QT version to download.
Highly recommended.

Vitalic: Pony 1 (aka BIRDS) rocks

I'm addicted to this video and am glad to see it's made the top 25

Flying dogs with lazers, no contest.
Pleix does some pretty amazing stuff.
I haven't seen all of there work, but everytime I do see something, it's full throttle originality. Their E baby video is still my favorite.

Serves as a reminder.

I'm gonna go as Dick Cheney for Halloween next year.
In fact, I think the upcoming scream IV is considering a change from the ghost mask to Cheney.

One has to keep in mind that the album that "Prime Time of Your Life" comes from (Human After All) is by far DP's worst album. Though, I have to admit that the way they mix those songs with their other work live (see their set at Coachella 2006 AKA the best show in the history of history) is like an audio orgasm...without the messy cleanup!

Actually, they made the album in two weeks in accordance with escaping from their contract with Virgin records.

That said, I really dig most of the videos on the list. I particularly enjoyed the Thermals' "Pillar of Salt". They're one of my favorite bands and that video really drives home the kinds of feelings their music reminds me of (e.g. growing up in the late 80's/early 90's."
