Century Optics 0.3x Lens Bayo Adaptor..

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this or if someone has posted this before. I tried to find info on it.

My friend is lending me a Century MkII fisheye lens, the lens has a gl1 bayo mount on it and therefore doesnt work on my vx2000. I searched all over to try to find a ring so i can use this lens. I have heard of people filing a new bayonet mount from the lens ring, but this is not an option since the lens isn't mine.

Thanks for any help...

I dont think Century will sell their bayonet mounts as standalone goods. If the shot is a static shot, you might be able to just hold the lens (from the top and bottom, not the sides since it's a fisheye) against the VX2K. I can't think of any other way to do it than that, and even that may not work well. Good luck.

there's a way to modify your bayonette mount on your camera that will let it fit. all you need to do is snip a few millimetres off the widest bayonette ear on your vx2k and it should fit. there's a tutorial on skateperception.com in the forums area. I'd link it to you but I'm having problems getting to the site.

I would love to mod the lens.. but like i said in my post I can't... since its not mine and im just borrowing the lens for a few months...

Bill Turner with Century (part of Schneider Optics) here.

You should check with our Service Dept. I believe we can install the proper ring on the lens ( and convert it back later) tho it might cost $150 parts and labor.

Contact John Sioringas at 818-766-3715 X 126 or email him at jsioringas@schneideroptics.com and mention that Bill Turner referred you.

Maybe we have a used ring or some way to save you a few bucks since it is temporary.

Good Luck

Bill Turner
