This website never ceases to amaze me.

Did my daily ritual of waking up, smoking a cig, then coming straight to dvxuser.com to see what I've missed and where I can help.

After my brief 30-45 minutes of "making the rounds", I saw a thread reply from someone in Tallinn, Estonia (dvxuser sebastian). Then a "German - living in Berlin" (dvxuser roadmovie). Then an "Australian in Tokyo" ( I think we all know who that is)... and the list goes on and on.

ESTONIA!!! I thought that place was just made up! (JK)

Anyway, it really amazes me how there are so many people, from all over the world brought together by the net, this website in particular, and the pursuit of filmmaking.

Thanks to Jared and all the moderators for all the hard work. This site is probably the most helpfull forum I've ever seen, and really a place to meet people and make friends.

p.s. I'm about to hit post 700, and I'm already conjuring a 1000 vid.

p.s.s. I'm really hungover right now, so please excuse my typo's

I've learned more from this website than I ever did from film school. That's right! I never went to film school. Sorry! Anyways, this site simply rocks!!!

Wouldn't it be cool to have a meeting where all dvxusers can go to once a year somewhere in the us and put a face with the username with the real name with their grabs and tips? Just thinking out loud.

We could have a virtual school and watch Barry conduct an online class.
It's a thought.

I agree. I have learned so much from this site, I'd be lost without it. I used to be a lurker for a while then started posting some, hopefully some day I'll be knowledgeable enough to start giving advice rather than just soaking it in.

That's the plan, that's the goal, and that's when we know the site is working. We've got several members here who now give out invaluable advice all the time, who started here as lurkers, then as question-askers, and now have grown to the point where they're able to assist others on their way up. That's the best part of the site.

dudes, this website taught me that i too could be a DP... now look, im making a Effing living off of this..... All thanks to Dvxuser.

What's cool is with the induction of new and great cameras like Red an the Canon XH series (Not to put down any other ones), we'll see a wider band of growth in the other forums.

I mean, there are other sites that point right to the DVXuser RED forum. And the Canon forum is seeing a lot of traction with the new release.

It's really becoming a massive filmmaking community. Videography included.

I admit, the web changed my life for the better BIG TIME!

This site has a HUGE part in my filmmaking persuit and I hope it's still around when I actually make a film that gets a huge release because I would love to shout of the site in my credits.... Imagine seeing that in a theater? In the middle of normal font credits you see a huge scren size dvxuser logo.... lol, that would be awesome!

So.. will this site eventually undergo a more more generalized name change, or will it always remain dvxuser out of sentiment?

Yeah, I echo what everyone has said here, DVXuser has been my film school as well, and I've grown a TON in the last year of being really involved here. I am planning on putting a big DVXuser logo on the end credits of my film coffee... as long as Jarred approves of course :) hehe.

I think it should remain so.

Also I second the virtual Class Idea. I've got on of those Skype Phones perphaps some kind of multi audio live broadtcast from DVXuser could be set up.(basically like doing conference call in MSN and yahoo chat)
