Shot in 24pA.. Now to get it into Encore DVD

Had a quick and simple question for the experts out there. I just edited my 24p footage (in premier pro 2 with the provided 24template. ). Now I want to get it into Encore DVD.. How should I export it so I don't lookse any quality? What type of file should I export it as.? I thought that I could have transfered it by using the "Adobe Dynamic Link".. I guessed wrong.

Thanks for your help in advance!
Brett

Go to file, export, adobe media encoder. You want to export an MPEG-2 for DVD delivery. There are several presets, and each preset can be tweaked.

Things to know are that CBR is constant bit rate, and VBR is variable bit rate. VBR will adjust the quality as needed, lowering and raising, within certain parameters. VBR is nice for fitting as much as possible onto a DVD.
CBR will maintain the same bit rate for the entire duration. If it's a short project CBR is a good choice.
If you want to export a 24P file, choose progressive. For a normal 29.97 file, choose lower fields first.
For 24p, I like to use a 7MB CBR, 4x3, high quality, progressive. Just make sure you match up your project setting with your export settings. You'll want the same frame rate, same aspect ratio, and the same fields. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kevin.. It does. For some reason when I try to burn the project on Premier Pro 2 directly to DVD with the correct settings (23.97 Progressive) NTSC High Quality 4:3, I get a crummy error: plugin coder error "No Plugin DLL". So then I ended up just burning it in premier pro 2 from the timeline at 29.97. Im not sure if this would have tweaked the quality of the footage? It seems to play okay. Perhaps if I am not planning on printing to film in the future, I should just shoot in 24p standard and capture it directly to the 29.97 timeline and not even deal with the export/burning of a 24p project.

I've had that error as well. You should be fine if you're exporting from Premiere, and then importing into Encore. That bug only seems to pop up when you burn 24p directly from Premiere. I only use Encore now, it's a great tool, and much faster than Premiere's direct to DVD function.
