Panasonic EFP Extra Roomy Production bag

I have one and really like it. Well made and LOTS of storage. I have three batteries with a charger and A.C., usually two boxes of tape stock, a matte box with rails, step down rings and filters, two wireless lavs, a wide angle, a rain cover, and a tool kit.

I've traveled with it several times and it's fine for carry on.

Is it too big? How much stuff do you carry? Personally, I don't find it too big, plus I like having all my camera gear in one bag.

I've used the smaller Kata DV Cinema bag made for Panasonic and found it too small. All my stuff would be scattered in to many other bags.

just my opinion.

I have one and like it for all the reasons RicFic gave. Good to know it's fine for carry on...I wasn't sure about that.

I used to have that bag but for some reason i didnt like it. one, i dound it awkward to karry and two, I thought it was was ugly (ahh vanity), although the panasonic branded one is nicer than the kata one. i've switched to the Ogio TY and i've never been happier.

One thing that i did like about it is that when you are wheeling around the airport with your suitcase, that kata bag has a place to slide onto the suitcase handle.

Thanks guys! Quick and informative replies like always!

I’m still putting together a DVX100B kit, but I expect I’ll be carrying at least 2-3 batteries with charger, tapes, matte box and filters, rain cover plus various other smaller accessories. I also want to be able to carry the Gretag-Macbeth white and color checker cards. (8x11)

Anyways, I want something not too bulky that can be easily packed and picked up in a hurry - for example if I want to go sightseeing and bring my camera along, without full production gear.
If I’m going for a longer / more elaborate shoot I don’t mind having a separate bag with all the grip goodies. (I’ll have that anyway)
I have the feeling this particular bag is kind of big for what I have in mind.
So what other camera bags do you guys use/suggest ?

NewYorkLion, do you find the backpack easy to use ? Somehow I’m not comfortable using a backpack with a camera (unless I go hiking of course :))

thanks, - johnny

If your going out on a shoot and need all your stuff-Great bag.

For a quick run out and grab some sightseeing-it's a bit much
