should I stay with the apple store ... or is there a reputable place online....

I currently have a powerpc imac and want to stick with a g4 laptop like a powerbook instead of getting anything with an intel chip..... I want to get a laptop so that I can take my final cut projects on trips to show clients and not have to rely on there computers.... also going to use it in the field doing outdoor stuff... so would like to get it from somewhere with a good warranty

any thoughts... i am leaning with staying with the apple store... but a deal would be nice!

If you have the cash, buy one from mac refurbished. Check apple, scroll down to the red tag on the page. they have the same warranty as a new one. Mine lasted 3 years until I dropped it a couple of times. I just bought a g4 powerbook 17 inch on ebay. Waiting for it now. Hopefully it will be cool. The kid that I bought it from does alot of them.

i've bought used imacs and powerbooks from macsolutions.com, but then i'm local so i can walk in and see the refurbs and used equipment for myself before I buy.

Just wondering as to why you are shying away from the new intel macs? Price or a dislike of intel or?
