I don't know about everyone else, but the Christmas season just makes me so happy! I was driving home the other night, and I spotted a house with Christmas lights up already.... and then the other day walking through Knotts Berry Farm they were playing Christmas music, and I could see my breath (it was night, and cold for CA, lol)... I just LOVE this time of year!

I thought you were gonna say you just found out you were getting an HVX for X-Mas. but yeah, that's cool too :)

Actually this will be my first christmas with my first born child. That is pretty freaking amazing to me.

Yea, I've been listening to the Christmas stations on my XM Satellite radio since Wednesday (that's right, the day before Thanksgiving)

I too greatly enjoy the Christmas season.

It's the one month of the year where I can play "Bob Rivers' Twisted Christmas" and no matter how much it drives my wife crazy, I can get away with it...

Every year here in Iowa, two radio stations compete so see who will play Christmas music first. They started playin it in OCTOBER!!!!!!

Christmas stuff was set out in stores right after Labor Day.

I held out until the day after Thanksgiving to throw the switch on the lights.

No matter how hard they try they're not going to break my Christmas traditions!!! :)

You know...I hate to sound like a bah-hum bug, but as the youngest of six kids, I grew up LOVING Christmas like nobody. It was always a very magical time of year. But, I haven't been able to feel that way about the Christmas season in years.

Something is missing....probably my youth....

I like X-mas because I get to watch the Grinch (cartoon) A Cristmas Carol with Alistiar Sims, Charlie Brown and Snoopy and all those other once a year classics:beer:

OH yes...I can always seem to find an abundance of marzipan around this time of year to...Yummy!!

It depends. look at the news, war in Iraq, people dying for no apparent reason, phsicopats and serial killers, human drama, global warming, more and more individualism... It gets hard to look at christmas the way one used to look when it was a kid, however...

You just get close to a kid in christmas day, and his innocent and genuine joy when he gets a present, or "sees"a poorly impersonated Santa Clauss, and it all seems worthwhile-beyond all the sh*t of the world around us. Its a shame we, as humans, can't evolve spiritually as we do technologically. There's always war, envy, greed, etc... Like John Lennon said, if the "world could be as one"...

But its good that, at least for one day, we could all just reflect on humanity, on what we are. Christmas, while having a religious conotation, seems like it is spread worldwide, in very unique and different ways. In Japan, for example, Christmas is like a "dating" day..

SPZ...I think the world has always had big problems at Christmas time Just listen to Simon and Garfunkles rendition of "Silent Night" with the five 'o clock news in the background. Today is the same cowboy with a different shirt. I agree with you and all, I just don't think it's anything new to be in a world of crap at this time of year.

I know, Mino... I guess I'm just feeling a bit melancholic... It's like a repetition, every year... That's why I said that we evolve technologicaly, but not spiritualy... In new years eve, everyone will be singing the same new year song, as we look for a better tomorrow... man am I in a Sh*tty mood today...

"Lisa, Christmas is the one day of the year when people of all religions join together in worship of Jesus Christ." - Bart Simpson

SPZ - For a very long time, in most parts of the world, the predictable cycle of seasons and holidays and festivals, year after decade after century, was something that gave people a sense of continuity and security and everything-being-under-control. I think that closed-cycle predictability and ritual is something that an awful lot of people still value.

Today, I walked out to my car to discover it was covered in ice... (Yes, I live in Socal) and it was 36 degrees this morning... I love this time of year!

Eggnog Lattes at Starbucks are also amazing!

*cough* *cough* I didn't start this thread for it to turn into talking about or quoting things of religion... please edit the posts... thanks :)

I'll second the eggnog lattes.

Eggnog lattes are proof that the Gods love us and want us to be happy.

Sorry, Brandon.

I find the best way to recapture the "magic" of the Christmas season is to watch the joy that it brings to young children.

Absolutely :) It's so awesome! I also love going out and looking at Christmas lights... opening my sunroof (since it's not 30 below, YEAH for CA!) and blaring Christmas tunes!
