1080i/24pa only showing in 720p frame?

I'm in Final Cut and I can't exactly get the 1080i/24pA footage to playback in a 1080 frame. It's just in the 720 frame.

How's that go?
 
What do you mean by "in the 720 frame" exactly? Did you use Easy Set-up? Do you mean it only shows in the 720 frame size? Are you getting render lines or what?
 
720 sized. Sorry about that.

It's 1080 but the playback/real-time is only 720 sized.

Dunnoy what Easy Set-up is!
 
How do you know it's only at 720? That sounds like a weird question, but I have a reason for asking it.

Sounds like you set up a 720 Sequence. Delete it. Go to the FCP menu, Easy Setup, and chose a project setting to match what your capturing. Then make a new Sequence. You can verify your Sequence settings by opening it in the Timeline window then going to the Sequence menu, Sequence Settings.
 
I didn't even see Easy Setup. LoL. I always go to the settings and change all of that.

It also keeps giving me an Error Message. Missing DVCpro HD device.

Edit: Alright, I forgot to change it from DVCproHD 720 to 1080 instead. It's working right now.

And I knew because at 100% it's as big as a 720 frame. And at 1080, it's the right size for 1080 on screen.
 
Once you set up a Sequence, you can change it's settings. But, once you drop footage into it, you can't change the settings or it will distort your already placed footage. You'd have to remove all clips from the Sequence, then redo settings, then drop footage into it.

But the Easy Setup is, well, much "easier" to use...
