Did you do the free tutorials that came with the program?
I'd next go to the Apple Pro Training books.

I'll second the Capt, check out the Apple Pro Training Series books. I would go through Apple Pro Training Series Final Cut Pro 5, Apple Pro Training Series Advanced Color Correction and Effects in Final Cut Pro 5 and then perhaps Apple Pro Training Series Advanced Editing Techniques in Final Cut Pro 5.
Also, depending on where you live, look out for a local Final Cut Pro Users Group. They can often be of help for that exact kind of thing.
cheers.

Nothing beats the quality and solid base of the Apple Pro Training Series books. They should be the very FIRST thing you start doing. Nothing will get you more knowledgable about the application faster, period.
First do the APTS, Final Cut Pro 5, will get you editing like a pro.
Then the APTS, Advanced Color Correction and Effects in Final Cut Pro 5, will help you learn compositing and color correction, advanced keyframing of Motion values, etc.
The last book mentioned above, APTS, Advanced Editing Techniques, is not so much about using FCP, as it is about how to actually edit various types of projects. So, depending on your editing experience, it may or may not help you out.
I'd also strongly recommend the APTS book, Optimizing Your Final Cut Pro System. No FCP user should be without this book! If you never buy any other APTS book, you should get this one for sure!!!!!! If every FCP user had this book, half the posts here on the FCP forum wouldn't be needed. It's an amazingly helpful book!
