I have a filml that I've been working on for months and now it has media offline in the icons but it plays fine pic and snd. When I tried to reconnect media some would and then I'd try the others and they would work but they other wouldn't they would go baack to having a media offline redbar only on the timeline not in the canvas.

Should I worry about this. I did a test Dvd but will have problems getting edit list out of it.

1- Download FCP Rescue (I gave up on FCP Preferences Attic, as it only backs up one of the two plug-ins folders) and trash your prefs.

2- Use the Render Manager to delete all render files for the project, save the project, quit and re-open the project.

Either or both of these steps should clear that right up.

What version of FCP are you running?

Where do I find the Download FCP Rescue because I use an old Mac for the web and my new Imac juct for editing.

When I delete all render files does that mean I'll have to redo everything from scratch such as putting on filters, colour correcting etc...?

Deleting render files only means you have to re-render everything. No filters or anything are effected. There is a back up option with FCP Rescue, but don't use this until your system is running with no problems.

And seriously consider the upgrade to 5.1.
