Not happy with graid backup going to try again please help

I backed up my g-drive to my g-raid but I'm not happy because some parts have media offline and although when I click on them there is something there when I try to reconnect media and they remain the same.

Can somebody please explain the drag and drop method. Most of my material is on the g-drive but some is on the Imac harddrive. Should I drag and drop both of them to the graid and then they will be connected.

Please help for I'm a novice at backing things up. Do I have to erase the first backup on the g-raid before I start the new one?

Thanks for your help.

What exactly did you back up? It sort of sounds like you're editing off your system drive, which is a big no-no.

Unfortunately some stuff was captured to the system hardrive by mistake, but most was on my g-drive.

Right now I'm dropping the files from the system harrdrive onto the g-raid replacing the capture file it had in the first place. Then I've renamed my files on the g-drive. Given them names like g-drive capture scratch and stuff. Then I plan to drag and drop my sequence etc files (the project icon so to speack) onto the g-raid and call it backup something.

Do you think this will work or will have to reconnect all media once it's loaded. And if so is there a better way to do that than manually one clip at a time?

Thanks

If that is correct please let me know. I'd hate to do all that work for nothing.

If clips have the same name & relative path, you'll just have to re-locate one file (pr folder)
