Can FCP Edit variable frame rates on a PAL HVX

please help - I am trying to find out if FCP will be able to handle/import/convert the variable frame footage from a PAL HVX.

Apparently it come up with an error if you try to bring in the file???

If you're on 5.1.2 and shoot p25, you're fine with variable framerates.
