Fcp Training New York/long Island?

Does anyone know where I can find an inexpensive course/seminar on FCP 5> in NYC/L.I. (pref. L.I.) I have a basic knowledge of the program, but lately I've been finding it inadequate. My problem is not editing technique (or the artistic side) as much as technical issues with the program. I'm computer literate up to a point, but I'm also 34 -- not too old, but people still edited on Movieolas or massive AVID systems when I was a kid. I'm tired of wasting time on technical issues! Example: I drove to Williamsburgh, Brooklyn (about 1 1/2 hrs away from Suffolk County, L.I. for those who are from elsewhere) and sat at my friends computer doing NOTHING for three hours because I couldn't figure out the proper settings for FCP. I know that you should always expect some tech. glitches, but 3 HOURS!? (thanks to Blaine and rcbrown23 for the help) Anyway, enough complaining. Anyone know the answer to the first sentence?

Two books you need to get ASAP. Both are Apple Pro Training Series books. The first one will get you up to speed quickly. It goes faster and easier than it looks.

I went to the 101 class in Washington DC -- someone else paid for it. But although I had a good understaning of the program this class helped too.

Not sure what you mean by INEXPENSIVE.

The tutorials in the manual are rather cheap... So is a $60 book at Boarders.

I did a two day seminar there several months ago. Doubt I'll get back that way for training. I do the ATPS FCP5 book before doing anything else, if I were you.
