Spider-Man 3 Theatrical Trailer

I'm very skeptical about this one. The black costume saga is just too over the top. The "realistic" world created on the first two movies is seriously at risk...I would probably prefer the "clone saga" with Ben Reilly to this storyline...

The movie should be about Gwen, Mary Jane, Parker and the New Green Goblin. No need for Sandman and Venom. Sandman is a lame character, in my humble opinion. Its just there for the special FX.

Why not bring in Kraven, the hunter- that storyline was great in the comics.

There were several points where Spidey was swinging, and it screamed CG... bad CG at that. I'm hoping it's just unfinished footage.

You mean the real world where a kid gets bit by a geneticly altered spider, then shoots webs out of his wrists, and climbs walls??? It's a fantasy hero film, therefore, the villains need to be a bit fantastical themselves.

yeah you can have both and they work... its a comic book story it been doing well for 40 years.... except the cloning thing got all messy. but it works.... now when you do the same movie twice superman and superman returns.... then you got problems....

the more real the more fantasy it works...

Well, I just saw a new trailer on youtube, with unfinished footage. At the very end, it did indeed show Venom. Real stuff, fake stuff, or discarded stuff, I'm not sure which. http://www.comics2film.com/FanFrame.php?f_id=23090

On a side note, am I the only one that has issues with youtube? It seems as though every clip I watch just suddenly stops at random points, and the audio also dissappears at points.

Notice the " " on the word real. What I meant was radioactive spider on laboratory bites human - believable- with so much work in genetics and biological weapons, this, as unbelievable as it sounds, seems possible. Lunatic injects drugs in order to become incredibly strong, losing his mind in the process- Believable- its just a super steroid. Alien from outer space that merges with spider-man because he's "cool" and fights crime with him for a while, then decides to turn bad? Hmmm... Man who turns himself into Sand, and decides to be a villain? With such a power, wouldn't he make more money in showbusiness, and be a lot less risky? Doctor Octopus was already a lame vilain in my book, but they did make him acceptable in the second movie. Probably what they'll do is turn the Alien into some sort of experiment (again) that adapts to Parker in an unbelievable way. As for Sandman, I'm also thinking its going on the "experiment gone bad" route. That's just not exciting at all.

Human cloning? Believable. Good chance to bring back the Green Goblin for a Final showndown- Dafoe back as the Goblin would be fantastic, Indeed.

Spider-man is such a nice character because it is easy to relate to. He's a guy that has doubts about his future, lives with difficulty and has troubles with his girl. Has an imperfect family, but nice. Its that "realism" that makes the story so interesting. Parker is no Clark Kent, for example, with his perfect Kansas family, fantastic job, amazing good looks and of course, being practically invincible and loved by all. Its about how the audience can relate to the character, in my opinion.

And this is why the villains have to be rather extreme- If it was just an average criminal, any dumb rookie could pop a couple rounds into them. Case closed. Spidey wouldn't have much reason to slip on his stretchy pants, would he?

As far as being believable, you already bought the spiderbite shtick. Why not a symbiot too? Or a guy that escaped from prison, and was hiding in the wrong place, only to become sub-atomicly altered? It's fantasy. If you wanted reallity, you'd go watch Borat ;)
