I wish it was a matter of capital. Certain things just take time. Anyway, we're working hard and as soon as we have something new, you'll be the first to know :)

I know that information will be forthcoming when you have it, as mentioned.

I am curious though: Is the delay related to distribution/getting parts, etc. Or is it development related (i.e. Trying to work out bugs). Or a combination of the two?

If you are able to disclose that info., I was just curious.

Jason

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry that I haven't been around as much.

To answer some of your questions Jason, there are a combination of things compounding the delays. As you may remember, we took the time to redesign the chassis and used that time to also redesign the way we interface through the P2 slot. This affords us to have a more robust connection and fixes most of the bugs we had in the Alpha version. There is still engineering and development work that is being done, as well as other delays coming from parts distribution and the time it takes between prototypes. I think we are close to announcing some good news. We also have some surprises in store for you guys, so hang on! I think you'll be happy!

Great to hear, David. I still have that Cineporter money set aside! Best of luck in the final stages of the Cineporter.

I am waiting in anticipation!

Hi David

"still engineering and development work" does this mean the product will not ship until next year NAB?

Thanks
Rory

I hope not Rory, but we'll know soon. Stand by and you'll find out why and then I think you'll want to wait however long it takes :)

I am excited as well! But I cannot hold off forever, with forever being NAB.
Let me know if you want to let me have your spot on the waiting list!

Haha Well I am definitely not at that point, but if it has to come to that, THoff, you will be the first to know. :)
Unless it is all the way in April or later you can bet I'm on board. I am not #57 with two 10% discounts for nothing!

I'm right behind you (#58), and the suspense is killing me! Maybe we need a new thread: "Openly inaccurate but entertaining CinePorter speculation thread" ... just to tide us over for a while.

If using the CinePorter to record, will you be able to play back clips through the HD component out?
I just heard you can't with the FireStore and I'm hoping since the CinePorter is more like a massive P2 device, we will be able to.

This is a big deal to many of our clients, and therefore me too. :)
Thanks for any feedack.

That's the "right on" answer I was hoping for. This will help on those times when a P2 workflow isn't right.
Thanks.
I'm still surprised how many DV gig's I've picked up since getting this camera. More revenue I've been passing on!

Ted, Barry is correct.
Right now you can only play back a continuous clip up to 8GB though. We are working on extending that to the full size of the CinePorter™
