When importing, footage looks streaky

I shot some footage on the Panasonic AG-DVX100b. It looks great when hooked up to the tv. The file I saved it as on the comp looks great. But in Premiere it looks streaky, like there are lines coming off the people when they move. Any suggestions?

What where the frame settings when you shot the footage? 24p, 24pa, 30p, 60i?
What are the frame settings for your project in Premiere?
Sounds like you are seeing a combing effect which can be normal when viewing interlaced footage on a progressive scan display. I've also seen it in Premiere when the frame settings of the project don't match that of the footage.

premiere normally automatically detects your frame settings (I've accidentally created 29.97 projects and captured 24p into them with no problems) which means there is a 99.9999999999% certainty that you shot the footage in standard mode (interlaced) and that's why you see the interlacing.

I've always wondered if there is a way of making the preview window in Premiere play interlaced footage as progressive scan to avoid the lines but I highly doubt it because it would mean merging layers etc etc.

next time set your camera to p5 or p6 or change your settings to shoot at 30p or 24p. that way you won't see the problem and your footage will be progressive.

I've noticed when using premiere pro 2.0 that when you have the monitor window set to high quality and you have it squeezed down these lines appear, i was worried my footage was messed up but then when i stretched the window out for a bigger view they went away.

Premiere Pro 2.0, shot 24p, edited in 24p
I stretched it out a little with no luck but switching to draft quality instead of high worked.

Thanks a lot!
