Upsacle 480 to 720/1080

I am using Eduis Broadcast to handle 480 as SD with widescreen via HVX200 using squeeze. I am planning to shoot in HD but not enough cards to do HD using 720/24PN while I will be in India for 3 weeks this end of the month.

I'll use the cards to capture in 480i/24P which increased more time per 4GB card. Just want to see if it will be good way to upscale the 480i to 720p. InstantHD from RedGiant could do the job but want to hear from you guys first.

720/24pN doesn't take up that much more space. More, yes, but not *that* much more. I'd say try to make it work shooting 720. You'll get 10 minutes per card in 720 mode, vs. 16 minutes in 480 mode.

Short of that, if you must shoot 480, use 24pA with vertical line detail set to THIN.
 
Sometime I wont be able to power up any of my equipment while filming on boat for days. Is there a light hard drive unit instead bulky to offload directly from HVX to HD?
