I have a question. I used an Sony HVR-Z1u 3-CCD HDV Camcorder, and recorded in 1080 60i. I'm trying to capture this footage with a crappy mini dv camcorder. When I tried capturing in HDV, it doens't recognize anything at all.

Do I have to capture with the Sony HVR to get 1080 in vegas? Thanks.

Oh Ic. I might just have to capture it at work.

What I did was, I filmed some footage with the HDR for about 10 minutes, and i switched to a DVX100 and filmed it on the same tape. I can't seem to get to the DVX100 footage, it looks messed up. =/

Was I not suppose to do that?

Yeah. I cannot see any footage at all through the camcorder or my screen. I hope when i go to work tomorrow, i will be able to see both the HDR and DVX100 footage on that one tape through a deck they have. I pray.

No, you really shouldn't have done that.

If you FF to the DVX footage and try to play it in camera, will it play OK?

If so, give yourself a few seconds leeway into the DVX and footage and try capturing it from that point on.

I know. I can't believe i was dumb enough to do that. Well, i definately learned from this mistake.

Well, I tried Fast Forwarding to the time where I started shooting with the DVX100B, and I see an image but it plays while just showing that single frame. It is weird.

I really hope it will show up when I capture it from a deck tomorrow.

Phew. Hope it works for me too. Thanks for the reply

I hate to say this but I could not capture the HD footage fron my dvx, So it will not work with the JVC.

You cannot capture HD footage from a DV camcorder. Just because the tape fits in the camera doesn't mean it can play it. It's like putting a Macintosh floppy into a PC drive -- just 'cause it fits doesn't mean it'll work.

You must have a Canon HDV camcorder in order to play back a Canon 24F/25F/30F HDV tape. You'd need a Canon or Sony HDV camcorder (or deck) to play back Canon 1080/50i or 1080/60i HDV tapes. Nothing else will work.

Alittle off the topic but when I was shooting with the 2 cameras (sonyHDV and dvx100a) it seemed to me that the dvx footage was nicer but maybe I am just biased?

I agree with you, the DVX100B (w/ wide angle without Letus35) seems so much better than the SONY HDR Z1U. I don't know why, but the the dvx100's color feels more expensive than the Sony. The SONY's picture is still great, but It looks more like a quality of a TV Shopping Advertisment.

When I get home from work I will post 2 screen shots and you will see the dvx quality.

I wonder if the XLa1 is created as a "deck" for the 24F footage.... you knw half the price of a Xlh1? and it can be used as a B ca......

ooh whts an MV10 hesays as ge switches to googel.....

HD10 Barry........ HD10.

Looks sweet. actually has a 1/2" Cmos! wow. i kinda wana see the footage it produces.

an MV10 is a battery..... or so Google says.

The HD10 is that small canon, HDV camera, looks like a PC1000 Sony.

Ehh i take it its something i dont know about. maybe a deck or something.
