Hey, you guys really are the best and most knowledgable and usually the most helpful people on this planet. That said, please help me out with this. Here is an image i half-assed in a few minutes. Im making a new business card and this is what i want it to look like... sort of, i want it to be more animated and be all black and white. Thanks so much for any help you guys could contribute. Thankss oah so much!

A pretty novel idea, but i must caution against using any old image you found over google because it might violate some copyrights and you could get sued for that.

Yes, but I'm guessing the chances of that happening are probably pretty slim. Not saying do it and get away with it, just saying that I doubt the copyright police will be kicking down his door and hauling him to jail anytime soon.

Whose to say he didn't set-off his own nuclear bomb just for this logo? :)

If you want opinions then I'd say go back to the drawing board. It looks amateurish. The name is hard to read (vertical type), the text isn't balanced, and using the DVX in your logo is a bad idea because it limits you, especially when the DVX becomes out-dated.

Logos on business cards are typically one, two or three colors (look at examples below). Companies usually have a full color version (like yours) for film/video intros and then keep it simple (outlines only) for business cards, documents, etc. Keeping it simple is best for branding reasons (easy to remember) and printing costs.

Maybe find some clipart of images that look industrial or spy related. Then use some cool font that looks like it's deteriating. Here's an example from a quick image search. Just look at the logo (not the background).

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone but im not searching for opinions on it im looking for ways to make it better, what i really want it for it to be black and white. Everything on the card to look animated and the DVX to be replaced with a generic looking camera, i just put it there because it is DVXuser.com Im looking for anyone who could help me accomplish this. That pic is just a rough draft.

thanks again everyone.

Like PK said, I'm not sure this is the best choice for a logo, since it doesn't seem very professional, and the name is hard to read. However, I tried to help you out by editing it in Photoshop a little bit. I made it black and white, I erased the LEICA name off the lens protector there, and made the explosion bigger.

like i said, this is all relative. Im looking for it to change drastically. This is just the very early concept of what i want. And i would really like to use it as a video logo instead of a business card!

Wait, I'm confused. Are you coming up with a design/logo for a business card? Or like a promo video clip sort of thing? In the original post you only talked about business cards, but that last post says that you want it as a video logo?

Why don't you consider doing something a little more straight forward. Easier to read? I did a mock up, its not perfect but instead of using a DVX image outright, I desaturated it to leave the silhouette of a camera.

And black and white...

You mean to say you half assed your own logo and are expecting people to haul ass for you?

Basically. These type of solicitations really water down the design community...:Drogar-Thinking(DBG

Firstly, im not sure your understanding. Im not looking for anything for free, im looking for helpful criticism to the work ive allready done. I HALF ASSED a rough draft to show you people and to get ideas. I expect noone to "HAUL ASS" or do ANYTHING at all for me. I would feel like a douche if i asked someone else to do my work but in the same respect you should feel like a douche for accusing me of passing on my work to someone else.
