How do we erase tracking marks on a blue/greenscreen within Vegas ?

Hey guys when we shoot a scene using 3d tracking marks (white crosses or dots on the chromabackdrop) to use with 3ds motion tracking. I want to know if we can erase the marks on the green screen or do people use 2 chroma instances (one for green and one for the white marks). If any of you have used this kind of motion tracking marks on a green screen can you please guide me how you have gone about erasing those marks after using it for tracking information. Any of you have done this within vegas before ?
Thanks

Use a bezier mask to make a garbage mask -- you basically cut out everything except the immediate area around your subject.

Hi, On a second thought, how can one use vegas to erase markers of non greenscreen shots. Actual Videos with real life backgrounds. We might have placed white dots on a road. Or maybe white stickers on a table etc. How can we clean these out of the orginal footage ? If its a locked off shot yes (we could use a clean frame of the same location and do bezier masks) but tracking is done only for moving shots. Any ideas how we could clean this out ? Just off the top of my head im thinking some thing like running an instance of the same clip in an upper track with it slightly track displaced to the right or left. This might give an actual patch of the same video but i cant put multiple masks on the same video. Ill have to then create 8 instances of the same video ???? I dont think so. But can something like this be done to clean up ???

You'd have to go frame-by-frame, most likely.

But you CAN put multiple masks on the same clip. You close off one and start a new one.

If there are enough high contrast elements in the background, you may not even need to lay down tracking marks at all. But as always, test things out.

Yes Glen you are right ! 3d Tracking can be done using any object that is of stark contrast when compared to the background using them as tracking targets. The problem is when we have to shoot a clean marble floor. Then what will we do. The tracker will go haywire. Even a road we could simple drop a small bit of crushed paper akinto chewing gum wrapper or smaller. Which has been well stomped on. They tend to be accepted as part of a road. At least in my country. And the tracker will easily track that as a target. But a clean carpet floor ? etc.

David > I didnt know you could put 2 beziers on the same frame ?? Can you. I tried it once and it simply wudnt work. Kept attaching as a continuation of the existing reactangle i drew. Can i really put 2 or 3 beziers onto a single video frame ? How do you close 1 bezier and start a new one on the same frame ?

You make sure that the first one is closed -- by clicking the first anchor point you made. Then you can go on to the next one.

Hi David. Thanks a lot. I was surprised. Yes ! What u said absolutely worked. But i remmember trying it when i first got into masks and it was giving some trouble. LOL. I guess like the proverbial lama says .... "empty your cup so that it may be filled". Sometimes we may have to unlearn to be able to learn something.

Thank You.
