Anyone try to hack the HVX viewfinder

After shooting with the JVC HD100 and Canon HD cameras, I find myself wishing for a better viewfinder, and was wondering, has anyone tried to remove the HVX viewfinder, and attach a better one?

Does anyone know how many pixels are in the built-in viewfinder, and how the signal arrives there? (is it analoge HD? SD? or something else entirely?) It seems like some technically gifted person could do this.. any thoughts?

yeah there was a guy who took a sony Viewfinder and took the COmposite out from the HVX and then had his own power supply for the view finder......

can't find the website new laptop...

I would have to agree with esperman. BUT then again. If there would be a way to magnify the EVF so I can see at 2times the size at the same pixel count or maybe some sort of faux pixel double.
