I wanted to sit down by a fire, watch a movie. It was a little cold out, wanted
to curl up in my lazyboy chair and watch, "Immortal Beloved" for which I now
really dislike Beethoven.

So, I throw a Duraflame log in the fireplace, forgot to check the damper, lit it.
As I walked up the stairs I noticed a tremendous amount of smoke. HOLY TOLEDO,
BATMAN. The damper, pull the damper. I pulled the damper with a poker (sucker
was hot) and the damper broke.

Did I fail to mention those Duraflame logs really burn fast and last a long time?

Smoke everywhere. Hubby threw some water on the log, I grabbed a shovel
and hurled the log along with the grate, out the window. I then went outside
and buried the smoldering log and grate.

So there we stood in our smoke filled little living room, every window in the
house opened. So much for a relaxing afternoon.

The chimeny sweeper came yesterday damper works, the grate however, is uh, still
buried outside.

The camera was tightly wrapped ina box. It's been sold to another dvx user.
So no way was it coming out of the box. Dang.
